If Microsoft Office does not let you install the DokuMate add-ins for Word or Excel, because those are signed by a publisher (Dr. Thomas Barnekow) that you currently don’t trust, you should install the code signing certificate attached to this article into the Trusted Publisher certificate store of your computer.
How is this done?
- Download the attachment thomas-barnekow-code-signing-certificate.cer shown at the bottom of this article.
- Open the Internet Options dialog, e.g., by executing inetcpl.cpl from the Start menu search box or a command prompt.
- Click on the Content tab.
- Click on the Publishers button.
- Click on the Trusted Publishers tab.
- Click on the Import button.
- Follow the Certificate Import Wizard’s guidance to import the certificate file you downloaded in step 1 into the Trusted Publishers certificate store.
Once that is done, the trust issue should be fixed. Thus, you should then do the following to complete the installation of the DokuMate Word and Excel add-ins:
- Close both Word and Excel as necessary.
- Launch Word and confirm that you want to install the add-in.
- Launch Excel and confirm that you want to install the add-in.
